WHAT DO YOU THINK?
Monday, January 11, 2010 at 8:55PM Hello All,
We'll see who is reading the web page based on how many comments we get for this article! I am proposing that we use Google Picasa for posting the pictures for this year's rides. The advantages are multi-fold:
- The pictures can be downloaded by members for printing or for using for their screen saver.
- The entire group of photos can be played as a slide show so you can sit back and watch instead of having to click through all those pictures.
- Other photographers on the ride can upload their photos to the site so we can see their masterpieces.
- Members can comment on pictures (this could be fun). I have added some captions for you to see.
- Faces can be identified and then you can search by person.
- Google Earth is shown with the location that the picture was taken. This assumes that your camera is capturing the GPS data or you are adding it (as I do).
Go to the Renner ATV Web Gallery to view a few albums that I have uploaded from last year's pictures. Add some captions and see what happens. Click on the "Add name tages" button and see what pops up.
This service will cost us between $5 for 20 GB of space up to $20 for 80 GB. These are annual costs. I know that the $5 will cover a year unless we get uploads from all photographers. We can play this by ear and decide we need more as we are topping out.
So go to the link shown above and play around a little. I think this service would be great for us and allow everyone to become involved tagging people in the photos as well as adding captions.
Click on the "Post a Comment" below and let all of us know what you think. I'll be looking forward to hearing from you. ~Dave

I think all this extra information is great. Only problem for me is my computer is so old it freezes up every time I try to access most of the extras. Hopefully a new computer is in the offing :) Keep up the good work Dave, I enjoy looking on this website to see if anything is new. Just wish there was more interaction, as I'm sure you do too. I like to hear what other people are thinking and their ideas. - Crystal
I like the idea, but it sounds comlicated ( as you know I am computer illiterate) So may need some help to understand how to use it. Don
I'm with Crystal here, I think more of us riders should check out the site more and post something.
Maybe something like "What's for Dinner" ? Where are we heading out to for a great adventure in the wilds of Nevada?
or even 'Hey O'Don" where have you and Julie been hiding? Hoping to see all of you soon.
