This is the BEST book for navigating offroad in Nevada. If you are looking for an atlas to plan your offroad trips in Nevada, this is the one for you.

2010 RIDE CALENDAR SET

The Board plus the Harrisons got together tonight and set up the 2010 Ride Calendar. I will be posting it in our calendar section before the weekend is over, so check back.

We are going back to some familiar places as well as going to many new ones. We do have a couple of rides that will be in California, so you will need the California out of state permit for your bike, if you plan to go on these. More details to follow on where to purchase the permits and their costs.

What I will tell you for now, is that our first ride will be a day ride and will be on the 27th of March. You'll have to check back for the reminder of the schedule.

At our next meeting, the Harrison Award will be presented to the person(s) that have done the most for the Club last year. We will also go over the schedule with a little discussion of each place and generally where it is located.

Talk to you soon.

2010 PLANNING MEETINGS SET

Here is the email that was sent out tonight to active members of the Club from last year:

We will be having only two planning meetings this year instead of three. The meetings will be held in the back room of Round Table Pizza in Fallon, just as in past years.

The dates for the meetings are 4 February and 11 March, both are Thursdays. Both meetings will begin at 7:00 pm.

Agenda:

  •   Nominate and Elect our 2010 Officers (President, VP, Secretary, Treasurer, Other VP, Other VP)
  •   Take nominations for "Harrison Award"
  •   Take ideas for rides (download a copy of all of our rides from the past four years here: http://bit.ly/6A45r0
  •   Collect dues and fill out 2010 membership information (a copy of the membership form with fees can be downloaded from the web site by going to: http://bit.ly/5VeSVW ). The more of you that pre-fill out this form and bring your money, the better.

Check the website: http://renneratvriders.com for any updates and to keep informed of the happenings of the Club. I have written a number of articles asking for your input.

We also now have a Twitter account. Our Twitter name is @atvnv and the tweets can be seen on the homepage of the website.

See you in a couple of weeks.

HaPpY NeW YeAr and WeLcOmE 2010

Welcome to the new decade! Are we going to call it Twenty-Ten or Two-Thousand and Ten? What's your preference? Mine is Twenty-Ten.

We will probably be having our first planning meeting for 2010 this month, so watch this website as well as your email. A few different items on this post:

1.  Have any of you heard of Twitter? If not, go to http://bit.ly/JVsI to read what it is. It is all the rage in the internet world and you can send and receive tweets via text messaging. I have set up a Twitter account for the Club and you can see what I am sending to it right here on this page--look to the right. You can also set up for it individually so that whenever I send something you will be informed. It's a quick way to get the word out.

2.  I have compiled a list from our first four years (2006-2009) of our rides by month. I have highlighted the ones that we went on more than once. Check out the list and jot down your ideas for the coming year. Of course we will go back to some of them, but we need to find some new sites too. The spreadsheet with our ride history is located CLICK HERE.

3.  It's been really cold the entire month of December with snow on the ground almost the entire month. Have any of you been out riding? Jimmy 4-Coats? We all would be interested in where you went and if you lost any appendages due to frostbite!

That's all for now. Stay warm and see you soon.     ~Dave
